Paskha: Sacred Music of Great Eastern European Composers and More
This concert is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the spiritual world of renowned composers, many of whom are primarily known as masters of symphonic and choral music. However, their work goes far beyond secular compositions— their legacy includes profound and moving spiritual hymns filled with faith, hope, and reverence.

On this evening, the works of Edward Scheve, Pavel Chesnokov, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Alexander Arkhangelsky, Mikhail Lyadov, Rudolf Tobias, Pyotr Patsyuk, Gennady Zubrich, and others will be performed. Each of these composers, in their own way, expressed in music the search for God, reflections on His mercy, holiness, praise, sacrifice, and the resurrection of the Savior.
Many of these works are rarely performed on large stages, but they possess great strength and depth. They reflect not only the traditions of sacred choral singing but also the personal spiritual experiences of the composers, their striving to express the ineffable through music.
Each piece in the program is a prayer in sound, reflecting the inner journey of the composer, their desire to convey triumph and sorrow, peace and inspiration, and reverence before the greatness of the Creator.
This concert is not just a performance of classical works, but an opportunity to hear the voices of great composers in their spiritual quest, to glimpse the depths of their hearts, and to touch the mystery they sought to reveal through their music.
These works are especially meaningful to each performer, whose inner spiritual life resonates deeply with the music, creating a profound connection between the performer, the composer, and the divine expression found within these compositions.
