Bring your friends and your knitting, crocheting, embroidery, or any portable craft project to the theater and enjoy classic films in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Not a crafter? That’s okay! Come enjoy the movie anyway!
With gently dimmed lighting, you can work on your projects while watching beloved movies on the big screen. Each event also features special guests from the local crafting community, showcasing their work and offering pop-up shops full of handmade treasures.
Today’s feature is Mamma Mia! (2008), featuring an all-star cast that includes Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Julie Walters, Christine Baranski, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard, and Amanda Seyfried, as well as the feel-good music of ABBA. This romantic jukebox musical tells the story of hotelier Donna, who is planning her daughter Sophie’s wedding. Unbeknownst to her, Sophie has invited three men from her mother’s past in order to discover which one is her father. Bring your tissues and your dancing shoes, along with your knitting needles!

We welcome all self-contained crafts that produce minimal mess or waste—knitting, crocheting, embroidery, quilting by hand, and similar portable projects are perfect for Stitch ‘n Flix!
Please avoid bringing items like glue or materials that could cause a big mess or permanent damage. As a historic theatre built in 1891, the Academy of Music Theatre holds a special place in our community, and we’re committed to preserving its beauty for generations to come.
