In 1976, pop art icon Andy Warhol journeys to Tehran to photograph the Shah of Iran’s glamorous wife. But when a chance meeting with a young revolutionary disrupts his plans, Warhol is forced to confront a world far beyond the one he knows.
Expect sharp dialogue, rich visuals, and a constant push-and-pull between East and West, artifice and authenticity. It’s a story that challenges you to rethink who controls the narrative — and what happens when history breaks through the frame.
“Andy Warhol in Iran” is written by Brent Askari and directed by Linda McInerney and runs April 10 & 11, 2026 at 7:30, April 12, 2026 at 2:00. It is approximately 85 minutes with no intermission.
The play contains discussions of torture, violence, war, and the use of a simulated firearm. It is recommended for ages 13 and older.
